Given the fact that there are generally two sides to every "health care coin", we work with Providers and Payers to break down any organizational silos that may exist and have the potential to negatively impact the quality, safety and cost-of-care. 

We approach any heath care discussion from the perspective of BOTH the quality and manner in which Providers deliver care and the level of coverage and reimbursement that health plan Payers provide to covered plan members.

As the health care industry transitions from  Volume-Based/Fee-for-Service reimbursement to providers to a system of Value-Based Care (VBC), we look to support that transition with a focus on Population Health and a complementary emphasis on the emerging discipline of Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID).

Whether significant health issues such as Chronic Diseases or Acute Episodic Events are a function of Genetics, Lifestyle Choices or the Social Determinants of Health, patients AND their family members are generally exposed to both Physical and Mental symptoms and challenges that accompany illness. Our approach involves acknowledging that relationship and bringing together the resources needed to treat the entire patient in order to effectively complete the care and healing process. 

 Within the health care industry, there  is a generally accepted principle that all care be Patient-Centered.  

Health Care should be something that is done WITH Patients (and their families) and NOT something that is done TO them.

With that in mind, we actively work with Employers, Employees, Family Members, Health Care Providers, Health Insurance Carriers and Health Care Technology vendors to provide the training, education, communication and resources needed :

• to make appropriate annual health plan elections IN ADVANCE of a significant health care event by taking into consideration current and emerging health status and needs, benefit and network requirements, financial resources and risk tolerance;

• to actively and effectively participate in their own care and treatment by understanding, following and adhering to preventive care, medication and treatment plan protocols recommended by members of their "care team." 

As one of the leading health-related areas that negatively impact both quality-of-life and cost-of-care, the prevention and management of Chronic Conditions has become a priority from both an industry and a personal standpoint.  As such, we believe that we can have a significant positive impact by focusing on:

• wellness initiatives, especially those aimed at developing positive lifestyle choices that limit the likelihood of certain Chronic Conditions along with their contributing/resulting comorbidities;

• the delivery of multi-specialty, coordinated care within a Value-Based Care environment;

• developing an understanding of the differences between Palliative Care and Hospice Care;

• educating and encouraging patients, their family members and providers to have "The Conversation" to determine what matters most to the patient when considering if or when it's appropriate to transition from curative to palliative / hospice care.
